- Medical time-out (USTA Reg. III.F; Table 13): evaluation time plus up to 3 minutes of treatment, with a maximum of 15 minutes in total. One per treatable condition. Cramping and heat-related conditions are limited to one time-out in the warm-up and one in the match. General fatigue isn't a treatable condition.
- Changeovers and set breaks: you may get evaluation, treatment or supplies from anyone for a treatable condition, but tell an official before using supplies. On-court treatment at these breaks is limited to two times for the same condition.
- Bleeding: up to 15 minutes to stop the bleeding and clean up. If the bleeding hasn't stopped, you must retire.
- Toilet/change of attire: allowed when an official decides the need is genuine, not because of fatigue. Take it at a set break when possible. Stomach problems are handled as medical time-outs.
- No coaching is allowed during any of these breaks. Not resuming within 30 seconds after a medical or bleeding time-out is a code violation (Table 14).
