| Maximum | |
|---|---|
| Warm-up | 5 minutes, unless the tournament decides otherwise (ITF Rule 29e) |
| Between points | 25 seconds (Rule 29a) |
| Changeover | 90 seconds (Rule 29a) |
| Set break | 120 seconds (Rule 29a) |
- Change ends after the 1st, 3rd and every following odd game of each set (Rule 10). There's no rest at the changeover after the first game of a set or during a tiebreak.
- The 25-second limit doesn't apply when you have to chase a stray ball (USTA Comment 29.1).
- Warm-up is not practice: hit to your opponent. If you refuse to warm up your opponent, you lose your own warm-up (Code 3; USTA Reg. IV.C.4).
- Take all warm-up serves before the first serve of the match (Code 4).
