An exceptional score is a Score Differential at least 7.0 strokes better than your Handicap Index when you played (Rule 5.9):
| Differential better than your Index by | Extra reduction |
|---|---|
| 7.0 to 9.9 | -1.0 |
| 10.0 or more | -2.0 |
- The reduction is applied automatically to your most recent 20 Score Differentials (or all of them if you have fewer than 20), including the exceptional one. Its effect fades as you post new scores.
- Reductions for more than one exceptional score add up.
- The Handicap Committee may override the adjustment, and gets a review notice for multiple reductions or a -2.0 reduction.
