- Players
- A team has a maximum of 14 players, with no more than six on the field at any time.
- A team needs at least four players on the field for a match to start or continue (except in a drop-off). If a team falls below four, the match is abandoned and the other team is declared the winner. This does not apply to players in the sin bin.
- Players must be registered with the national touch association or an approved competition provider. A team that plays unregistered players can be made to forfeit any match they played in.
- The field is 70 metres from try line to try line and 50 metres wide, plus in-goal areas seven metres long at each end. The usual surface is grass, and competitions may vary the dimensions in their conditions.
- Team coaches and officials may be inside the perimeter but must stay in the interchange area or at the end of the field, at least five metres from the dead ball line, and must not coach or communicate with the teams or referees from the end position.
