Stableford is a form of stroke play, so the normal stroke play Rules apply, with these differences in scoring:
| Score on the hole (net, in a handicap Stableford) | Points |
|---|---|
| More than one over par, or no score returned | 0 |
| One over par (bogey) | 1 |
| Par | 2 |
| One under (birdie) | 3 |
| Two under | 4 |
| Three under | 5 |
| Four under | 6 |
- You aren't disqualified for not holing out. If you don't hole out, you just get zero points for that hole. To help pace of play, you're encouraged to pick up once you can't score a point.
- On the card, a hole scoring points must show your score; a zero-point hole can show no score or any score worth zero points.
- The Committee works out your points and applies your handicap strokes; you don't have to.
