The Committee may provide or allow an aide or a supervisor:
Aide (helps one player with their play and with applying the Rules)
- Has the same status as a caddie, and the player may ask for and get advice from both their aide and a caddie at the same time.
- Only one aide at a time; more than one is two strokes per hole (loss of hole in match play).
- If the player also has a caddie, the aide must not carry or handle the clubs, except to help with stance or lining up before the stroke (if the Committee allows it) or as a courtesy. Otherwise the player is treated as having two caddies, with the same penalty.
- The aide may lift the player's ball on the putting green without authorisation.
Supervisor (appointed by the Committee for the event)
- Isn't assigned to one player; helps any player with an intellectual disability as needed.
- Is an outside influence under the Rules, and players may not ask for or get advice from a supervisor.
For players with both intellectual and physical disabilities, the Committee is recommended to combine the relevant parts of Rule 25.
