Who can play in the Hostplus Cup?

The Hostplus Cup is an open age competition for players who reach a minimum age of 18 years in the year of competition.
- A player turning 17 in the competition year can apply for a written exemption to the Competitions Manager, through their Hostplus Cup Head Coach and CEO.
- Players eligible for the Mal Meninga Cup who were born in 2009 must play in that competition, and their team's participation in it must be completed, before they are eligible for Hostplus Cup selection (for the 2026 season). Clubs can apply for an exemption by written submission to the Competitions Manager with the consent of both the Hostplus Cup Head Coach and CEO.
- The pre-season training program starts no earlier than the week commencing 10 November 2025 (for the 2026 season).
