Photo ID: teams must be ready to present valid photo ID for every player and team official on the match-day roster. Acceptable ID is an Ontario Soccer approved ID (such as a Player ID Book or Card) or a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver's licence or passport.
- Either team can ask the referee (or the league-appointed Match Day Operations Coordinator) to check the ID of someone on the other team's roster, but only before the final whistle. Before kick-off there is no limit on how many checks can be requested. After kick-off a team is limited to one ID review per match, done at the first chance to pause play, in front of the person being checked.
- A player who cannot show ID, or who does not resemble the photo, is dismissed from the match and sent to the team dressing room.
- The match is played in full regardless of the outcome of an ID review. The OPL Discipline Committee makes the final decision on a player's eligibility.
Sent off: a player or team official sent off by the referee must immediately leave the field of play area and go to their dressing room or a seat in the bleachers. They may not stay on the team bench.
Suspensions: the league keeps suspension information and makes it available electronically. Suspended players cannot be placed on the official match roster in COMET. An ineligible player on the match-day roster leads to discipline for the licence holder under the OPL Discipline Code.
