From the OHF Playing Regulations (Regulation E):
- You must be a registered participant of an OHF Member to be eligible to play (E1).
- A player applying for registration for the first time must give proof of age satisfactory to the Member (E6).
- You must follow all rules, regulations and policies of Hockey Canada, the OHF and your Member (E5), and the OHF applies Hockey Canada residential requirements (E16).
- Residency is where you and your parents habitually reside. If you have two custodial parents in separate homes, it is the usual residence of the parent you usually live with; if you live equally with both, the OHF decides (E17).
- If you move without your parents and set up a continuous habitual residence with someone else, the Member or the OHF decides your eligibility using factors such as where your parents live, where you go to school and how much time you actually spend at the new residence. The onus of proof is entirely on you (E18, E19).
- If you move with your parents and set up a continuous habitual residence other than the primary residence on the Hockey Canada Registry, you must update your address with the OHF before you take part (E22).
- You must complete the written information a team reasonably requires to let you attend player evaluations (E21).
- The final date to register players in the season is February 10, or earlier if a Member declares it (E14).
