NRL Masters Rugby League is designed for players over 35 years old who no longer wish to play competitively. The Laws and the spirit of the game are modified so players can play safely and enjoyably, with regard for the safety of teammates and opponents.
Principles of the game:
- It is totally non-competitive: scores are not kept, and there are no results or competitions.
- The Laws and modes of play remove potentially dangerous elements so players of all age groups can play together.
- Safety of teammates and opponents is paramount, and over-aggressive or inappropriate rough play is forbidden.
- All players who come onto the field should be able to leave the field together.
- Players, team officials and referees commit to the letter and the spirit of the Laws.
The International Laws of Rugby League apply in full, with the exceptions in the Masters Laws (approved by the Rugby League International Federation, June 2011).
