Every LTA sanctioned competition, and every event within it, is graded by the LTA (Regulation 5.1):
| Grade | Level |
|---|---|
| 1 and 2 | National |
| 3 | Regional |
| 4 | County |
| 5 | Local |
| 6 | Matchplays |
| 7 | Internal venue competitions |
| Ungraded | Recreational competition |
What each grade counts towards:
- Grades 1 to 5: LTA Ranking points (or Recent Form for 9U and 10U) and your World Tennis Number.
- Grades 6 and 7: your World Tennis Number only, not Ranking.
Higher grades carry more ranking points. A competition can have pre-qualifying, qualifying, main draw and consolation stages. If an event is oversubscribed and split into an overflow "B" event, it may be given a lower grade, and you'll be offered the chance to withdraw without penalty.
The LTA's grading decision is final.
