The Lacrosse Canada Regulations say the Senior A championship of Canada (the Mann Cup) is conducted annually under the guidelines of an agreement of the participants, to which all participating Members, qualifying leagues and Lacrosse Canada must be signatories.
- Effective 2024, the ratings of the Members competing are BC Type 2 and Ontario Type 1.
- Type 1 team: a club allowed to pick up players from a lower-category affiliated team. Type 2 team: a club allowed to pick up a maximum of three players from the same category and a maximum of three from a lower-category affiliated team.
- A Member applying to enter the Senior A championship must post a $5,000 bond with Lacrosse Canada, held in trust until a five-year commitment to the championship is completed. If the commitment is not met, the bond is forfeited and shared among the remaining participating Members.
- The regulations name the Mann Cup as the Senior A trophy.
