- Clock: when a penalty corner is awarded, the match is stopped for up to 40 seconds, and time is also stopped for that period. This lets defenders put on protective gear. Play restarts by whistle after no more than 40 seconds if both teams are ready.
- Re-awards: time stops immediately but teams do not get another 40 seconds.
- Face masks: all players defending a penalty corner must wear a face mask.
- If a team is not ready: the umpire decides whether the delay is intentional. If defenders just need a little more time to get fully protected, extra time is given without penalty.
- Intentional delay: the responsible player gets a green card, and a yellow card for repeat offences. If the offender is a defender, the defending team defends with one less player. If it is the goalkeeper, the team defends with no goalkeeper and only four field players.
- After a penalty corner: a goalkeeper substitution is allowed under the normal Rules of Hockey if a second goalkeeper is fully kitted up and ready.
