Under Rule 11:
- If the ball breaks during a rally, a let is played.
- If you stop play claiming the ball is broken and it is not, you lose the rally.
- If the receiver, before trying to return serve, shows that the ball is broken and the referee cannot tell when it broke, a let is allowed for the previous rally, so it is replayed.
- To appeal a broken ball at the end of a game, you must do so immediately, before leaving the court.
- The ball is changed if both players agree, or if the referee agrees with one player's request. Players may then warm up the new ball.
- If the ball becomes wedged in any part of the court, a let is played.
- A let may be played if the ball touches an article lying in the court.
- There is no let for an unusual bounce.
