Under Rule 8.2, if you are the striker and believe your opponent has interfered with you, stop and request a let, preferably by saying "Let, please."
- Ask without undue delay. If you play on past the interference and then ask, no let is allowed.
- A request for a let also counts as a request for a stroke: you do not ask for a stroke separately.
- Normally only the striker may ask. The exception: if you are about to become the striker and lack access to the ball before it has reached the front wall, your request may be considered.
- If your opponent hits the ball and you then ask for a let, but their shot goes down or out, you win the rally (Rule 8.5).
- The referee can award a let or stroke without a request, especially for safety.
The striker is the player from the moment the opponent's shot rebounds off the front wall until the player's own shot reaches the front wall.
