Cricket Australia lists four community programs for women and girls, and says over 350,000 people play cricket across Australia:
| Program | Ages | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Woolworths Cricket Blast | 4 to 10 | Entry-level program with game-based activities, weekly 60 to 90 minute sessions, equipment provided |
| Smash Series Cricket | 9 and over | Fast, simplified one-hour format with soft balls and flexible rules, no club needed |
| Junior Club Cricket | 8 to 18 | Organised games at your local club, in three stages: Stage 1 (11 and under), Stage 2 (Under 13) and Stage 3 (14 and over) |
| Senior Club Cricket | 16 and over | Play for fun or competitively at a local club, with varying grades and formats |
Cricket Australia's aim is for women and girls to feel welcome and supported at their clubs, including taking on leadership roles and training and playing when and how they want. It runs a 10-year Women and Girls Action Plan to grow participation, engagement and representation at every level.
Junior girls can also play girls-only club teams in many areas, and elite pathways such as the WBBL sit above community cricket.
