The CGL Code of Conduct applies to players, umpires, team officials, managers, spectators and ground staff at any match played under CGL. Participants must not:
- show dissent at an umpire's decision (decisions must be accepted)
- verbally abuse, assault or intimidate anyone, or vilify anyone because of race, religion, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin, language or sexual orientation
- use crude or abusive language or offensive gestures
- comment publicly, including on social media, in a way that harms the game, a match or team relations, criticises selection, or discusses a disciplinary case or an umpire's decision
- bet on, or advise on betting on, any CGL match, or accept any inducement to underperform
- wear unapproved clothing, logos or advertising, or any religious or political slogans
- drink alcohol (or use any other inhibiting substance) before or during a match, including during rain delays. This applies to everyone in the team, so batters waiting to bat may not drink either
- handle, sell or take illegal drugs; players must also follow the Cricket South Africa doping policy.
Attempting a breach counts the same as committing one.
