Generally no. Under the CGL By-laws:
- Two CGL clubs: playing for more than one club is penalised. The one exception: the Board may, at its discretion and on its own conditions, let a player registered with a Saturday League club that plays no Sunday cricket also play for a Sunday League club.
- Another provincial union: you may not play for a CGL club while you're registered with, or playing for, a club affiliated to another provincial union.
Penalties: for playing for more than one club, or for a club in another union, the club loses the points for that match, is fined R500 and loses a further 3 points, and the player is suspended. Playing for two clubs without CGL permission is also a Level 2 code of conduct offence.
