Can my child pitch and catch on the same day?

Only within these limits:

• A player who catches in four or more innings of a game can't pitch that calendar day.
• A pitcher who throws 41 or more pitches in a game can't catch for the rest of that day.
• A player who catches three innings or fewer, then pitches 21 or more pitches that day, can't go back to catching that day. If they reach 20 while facing a batter, they can finish that batter and still keep their catching eligibility.

These limits protect young arms, so expect the manager to plan who pitches and who catches before the game.
