WA Football's policy is that generally there is no law restricting photography of people, including children, in public spaces, as long as images are not indecent, used for voyeurism, protected by a court order, defamatory, or used commercially. A venue owner (a club, school or council) can restrict or ban photography, for example in change rooms and toilets.
- Team managers must make the opposing team manager aware of any photographer at the venue, who can name anyone who does not consent (for example because of a court order or safety).
- Respect any request not to publish a photo or video on social media.
- Drones follow CASA rules: no higher than 120 m, at least 30 m from other people, and never over people during a game.
- Posts featuring minors need appropriate permission, and cyberbullying, harassment or sharing sexualised images of anyone under 18 (a criminal offence in WA) is prohibited. Social media breaches are reported to the Club President.
