How many events can my child swim in a day?

USA Swimming's daily limits on individual events (Article 102.2) are:
| Meet type | Maximum individual events per day |
|---|---|
| Timed finals | 6 |
| Prelims and finals | 3 |
| Mix of prelims/finals and timed finals | 3, unless your child swims only timed finals that day |
Relays don't count toward these limits. The meet announcement can set lower limits, and many age group meets do.
If your child is entered in too many events, the extra events are scratched in the order they're swum. If they actually swim extra events, those swims are disqualified.
