USA Hockey strongly recommends the lightweight blue puck for all 10U games (boys and girls):
| Puck | Weight | Where it's used |
|---|---|---|
| Blue (lightweight) | 4 to 4.5 oz | Required at 8U and below; strongly recommended at 10U |
| Black (standard) | 5.5 to 6 oz | Standard puck for older levels |
Both are 1 inch thick and 3 inches across. At 10U, whether the blue puck is used is up to your league or event.
