Nationally, the Water Safety Procedure requires every Nipper participant to wear a high visibility vest as the outermost layer and a coloured cap secured under the chin.
Surf Life Saving Queensland (state example) lists what to bring: bathers/togs, a club cap, a water bottle, a long-sleeved rash top, a sun hat, a towel and sunscreen. It says a high-visibility rash vest is mandatory, and that clubs north of Agnes Water SLSC (Gladstone region) require a stinger suit. Most clubs sell club-branded apparel, and prices differ by club.
