What changed in CanSkate for the 2025-26 season?

Skate Canada's 2025-26 CanSkate reminders say the CanSkate material was refreshed to support development through the STAR 1-Gold structure. Changes include:

• The word "Skill" was replaced with "Element".
• Updated elements include sculling, one-foot sit glide, forward power jump, C step and giant slalom.
• Circuits and stations use one-third of the ice surface. The outer circuit templates are removed after Stage 3-4 so skaters can use the full width of the ice to build power, speed and edge skills.
• Element requirements now vary by skill level. For example, for one-foot jumps from forwards to backwards, only one jump must meet the requirements, but all four jumps must be trained.

Skate Canada's July 2026 rule book update notice lists no direct CanSkate program changes.
