The RSEQ (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec) is a non-profit that promotes and develops sport and physical activity in student settings, from introductory level to high performance. Its athletes are students first, and it works for their education, academic success and health. Its services are in French first, though each school chooses the language it uses for communications and on the field, and the 2026-27 school sector rules are published in English (the French version prevails if the two differ).
In the high school sector, the levels are:
- Division 1 (D1): the highest provincial level; the provincial league is managed by the RSEQ.
- Division 2 (D2): the second provincial level; each league is managed by one or more "points de gestion" set by the school sector commission.
- Division 3 (D3): the highest regional level; each RSEQ regional association runs the leagues and team selection for provincial championships.
- Division 4 (D4): regional leagues managed by each regional association.
