Can my child also play club or community sport, or at another level, during the school season?

For school sport, a team does not need RSEQ authorization to take part in non-school ("civil") competitions. For competitions recognized by a school body elsewhere in Canada, the team must get authorization from the provincial RSEQ.
Whether a player who plays outside school, or professionally, can join the school team depends on the specific regulations for that sport, which can limit access.
For teams in provincial leagues (D1 and D2), priority in scheduling goes to RSEQ programming. The rules say constraints from other programs (exhibition games, other leagues, tournaments, trips) are not taken into account when the league schedule is prepared.
