Games (Official Rules and Case Book, 2025-2027, Rule 6.1): two fifteen-minute periods of actual playing time (stop time) should be allowed for each game in the U14 and younger age divisions. If periods of that length are not possible, equal-length periods are played.
Children's Ringette (Ringette Canada guidelines, 2020-21):
- On-ice sessions should be limited to 1 to 2 per week, each 45 to 60 minutes. There should be no off-ice training sessions at this stage.
- Shifts are 2 to 3 minutes of equal shifts.
- Programs are recommended to run a maximum of 13 consecutive weeks (about 3 months), with no more than 2 programs (6 months) per year, so children can advance a level every 3 months and try other sports.
- Each group should have 9 to 12 athletes. Tournament or jamboree teams are formed from a group and should not exceed 12 players.
