The RFL's RESPECT code of conduct applies to everyone in the game, at matches, at training and on social media. Parents, guardians and spectators should:
- Respect the match official's decisions and not complain or argue about them during or after a game.
- Never ridicule or scorn a player for a mistake, and cheer positively for all players rather than jeering opponents, their supporters or officials.
- Not force an unwilling child to take part; children play for their own enjoyment, not the adults'.
- Condemn violent or illegal acts by anyone, and challenge behaviour that breaks the code.
- Avoid unsporting or discriminatory language, harassment or aggressive behaviour.
- Follow the directions of the ground manager and match day staff.
- Never arrive under the influence of alcohol or bring alcohol to a game, and only drink in a designated licensed area at the ground.
- As a role model around children: don't swear, abuse officials, encourage foul play, enter the field of play, or drink or smoke.
- Be respectful online, including not criticising players or match officials.
Any breach of the code is Off Field Misconduct. At Primary Rugby League festivals, the host may remove anyone whose behaviour breaches the code, and shouting instructions aggressively or disputing decisions is not acceptable.
