Yes. Mixed rugby league is permitted up to and including Under 11s. From Under 12, boys and girls play in separate competitions.
Girls in school Years 6 and 7 can play girls' Under 12s, which uses the RFL's Under 12s modified rules:
- 11 players a side, with as many substitutes as needed, and every player must play at least half the game
- two halves of up to 20 minutes, with a 5-minute half-time
- size 4 ball and the six-tackle rule
- passive scrums of up to 5 players, with no pushing
- no ball stealing and no fly-kicking
Older girls play 13-a-side in age groups up to Under 19, then open age.
