- Rules of Competition
NSW Athletics must approve all club uniforms, and athletes must compete in their registered club uniform. An individually registered athlete wears the generic uniform determined by NSW Athletics.
- A competition singlet or shirt must not cover any compulsory number (such as a registration number), patch (such as the age patch) or sponsor logo. An athlete who has one covered will be asked to tuck the singlet in, and may be fouled or disqualified for not complying.
- A logo on the uniform top must be no more than 5cm high, with lettering no more than 4cm high and a total area no more than 30cm sq, unless it is a club logo or club sponsor logo approved by NSW Athletics.
- A plain shirt (no graphics, pictures or logos) may be worn under the uniform. A white or neutral colour is preferred so it does not clash.
- In walks events, clothing worn below the knee must be form fitting so the walking rules can be judged.
- Headwear may be worn. If it comes off in javelin, long jump, triple jump, shot put or discus there is no penalty. If it falls off in high jump and knocks the bar, that is a foul. If it falls off in a track event and impedes another athlete, the athlete may be disqualified.
