Age groups go by calendar year: your child's age group for the whole of 2026 is set by how old they'll be on 31 December 2026 (Regulation 6 and Appendix Eight, LTA Competition Regulations 2026).

- 8U, 9U and 10U players can only enter their own age group and the one above.
- The age group changes on 1 January, not on your child's birthday. A child who turns 9 in December 2026 is already 9U from January 2026.
- If a competition runs across New Year, it uses the age groups for the year in which it ends (an event finishing on 2 January 2027 uses 2027 age groups).
