What do buddies do, and who can be one?

Buddies help Challenger players with batting, running the bases and fielding, but only as much as each player needs. The aim is for your child to do as much as they can for themselves.

Little League's guidance for buddies:

• Buddies should be at least 9 years old.
• Using other Little Leaguers as buddies is strongly recommended. High school students, Scouts and other sports teams also make great buddies.

If your child needs particular support, such as help moving around the bases or extra space from batted balls, tell the manager so the right buddy can be paired with them.
