Only KidSport-approved clubs can accept vouchers, and your child can join an approved club outside your local government area. The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) decides which clubs are eligible. Every approved club must:
- hold an ABN operating in WA
- comply with the Working with Children (Screening) Act 2004
- charge a fee for the activity
- hold appropriate and sufficient insurance.
Eligible organisation types:
- Community sport clubs incorporated under WA associations legislation (or an Indigenous organisation under Commonwealth legislation), for sport that meets CITS's definition and runs for at least 8 weeks
- Businesses registered and affiliated with the relevant CITS-recognised state sporting association, for sport that runs for at least 8 weeks
- Girl Guides and Scouts clubs registered and affiliated with Girl Guides WA or Scouts WA
- Schools and P&C associations that enter a community sporting program or competition affiliated with a recognised state sporting association
- Swim schools endorsed by a recognised state sporting association or peak body, aligned with the National Water Safety Framework and with qualified instructors.
Clubs must accept vouchers as payment and can't require parents to pre-pay. They can't charge KidSport children a different amount from other children. Approved clubs appear on the "Find a KidSport club" page.
