Only limited inquiries are accepted at national events:
- What: only inquiries about the difficulty (D) score, or line and time deductions. Inquiries comparing judges or panels, comparing athletes or groups, comparing to other events, or about execution scores (including artistry) are not accepted.
- Who: only a state or club coach on behalf of the athlete, with one coach per level nominated to submit D score inquiries. A parent cannot lodge one.
- When: verbal notice must be given by the end of the rotation (for the last gymnast of a session, within one minute of the score being displayed), and the written Inquiry Form must be submitted within five minutes of the verbal notice.
- Cost: an unsuccessful inquiry costs $200, invoiced after the event to the relevant organisation. If upheld, no fee applies and the score is adjusted. At the National Clubs Carnival there is no limit on D score inquiries, and none on line and time inquiries.
- Jury decisions are final.
