Is the programme safe, and are the coaches checked?

Yes. Both programmes are run to ECB requirements:

• Every centre must pass safeguarding, risk and insurance assessments before the ECB accredits it.
• All activators (the coaches who lead sessions) are trained and must hold an ECB Enhanced DBS check. The ECB rechecks everyone in these roles every 12 months.
• Helpers who volunteer for more than three sessions also need an ECB DBS check.
• Sessions use soft balls, with plastic bats in All Stars and light wooden bats in Dynamos.
