Under the ACA National Competition Rules 2026-27:
- Competitions on the national calendar are open to properly licensed competitors entered by their provincial or territorial sport organization (PTSO) and club.
- Race insurance (ACA commercial general liability) covers national calendar events as long as the club and all participants are registered with ACA and their PTSO for the current season.
- ACA or a PTSO cannot issue a licence to a competitor who has not signed the ACA waiver.
- In points programs, each competitor must hold a current ACA competitor card and number. U12 is listed as a non-points program.
Example from one province: Alpine Ontario requires every U12 athlete to register through its online registration system, which includes a waiver, before competing in any event or camp, and says U12 athletes will not be nationally carded in Ontario.
