WADA's International Standard for Testing and Investigations (2023), which SAIDS applies, has a special annex for athletes who are minors:
- Two sample collection personnel must be assigned to any sample collection session involving a minor.
- Two sample collection personnel must always be present whenever a minor is in the doping control station.
- A minor is recommended to have a representative with them throughout the session, and sample collection personnel will make reasonable efforts to help find one.
- If no representative can be found, a second member of the sample collection personnel accompanies the athlete until a representative is found or the athlete reaches the doping control station.
- A representative is not compulsory, and the test is not invalidated if one cannot be found.
Minors also have every athlete's rights in a test, including the right to be accompanied by a representative, to ask for more information, and to receive a copy of the sample collection records.
