This team plays the MJCC Stage 1 modified rules. The ones that matter most to you:
- 20-over matches, six-ball overs. All overs are bowled from the same end, and the batters change ends at the end of each over.
- Wides and no-balls are recorded but not re-bowled.
- No LBW, and no stumpings. Batters can only be out bowled, caught, hit wicket or run out.
- A dismissed batter keeps batting. Each dismissal is worth 4 runs to the bowling team.
- After a wicket the striker changes ends, except after a run out.
- Running out the non-striker before the ball is bowled is never out: use it to teach the batter instead.
- Batters retire after facing a set number of balls, including wides and no-balls: 24 with 5 players, 20 with 6, 17 or 18 with 7, 15 with 8, and 13 or 14 with 9.
- Every player bowls at least 2 and no more than 4 overs.
- Two wicketkeepers per team, 10 overs each, swapping at the drinks break.
- No fielder (including slips) other than the keeper within 15 metres of the striker, and no more than two fielders behind square leg.
- Helmets, pads, gloves and protectors are compulsory when batting and keeping.
- No Hat No Play applies to players, coaches and umpires.
