How do I acknowledge the umpire's signals?

The main umpire signals to you once the ball is dead, then waits. Wave back clearly (a raised hand is enough) so they know you've seen it. If you missed a signal, wave both hands or call out and ask before the next ball.
The signals:
- Out: index finger raised above the head
- Four: arm waved side to side across the chest
- Six: both arms raised above the head
- Wide: both arms stretched out horizontally
- No-ball: one arm stretched out horizontally
- Bye: one open hand raised above the head
- Leg bye: hand touching a raised knee
- Dead ball: wrists crossed and re-crossed below the waist
- Short run: one arm bent up, fingertips touching the shoulder (take one run off)
If the umpire gives more than one signal (for example a wide that also went for four), record each.
