When should I ask the square leg umpire for help?

- Parent umpires
Ask whenever they had a better view than you. That's usually:
- run outs at the striker's end (these are their call)
- hit wicket
- catches near square leg or taken close to the ground
- whether a batter grounded their bat before turning at the striker's end ("one short")
- too many fielders behind square leg, or a fielder within 15 metres of the striker.
Agree a quick way to check with each other before the game, such as a hand on the chest for "not out". At two balls remaining in each over, hold up two fingers to confirm the count with them.
