How long is the match, and what happens if we run out of time?

The whole match has 130 minutes: 60 minutes for each innings, plus a 10-minute changeover between innings. These times are strict.

Take drinks after 10 overs, when the wicketkeepers swap, for no more than 3 minutes. On hot days the umpires can agree to extra drinks breaks of up to 2 minutes each. Batters and keepers can ask you for a drink between overs, taken on the field so play keeps moving.

If time runs out during the first innings, the second team faces the same number of overs the first team faced. If time runs out during the second innings, the result is decided on both teams' scores after the number of overs the second team faced.
