- Officials
According to the WCL Spectator Guide, three officials score a wrestling match:
- Referee: on the mat, makes the initial call on points.
- Judge: mat-side, verifies the referee's calls.
- Mat chair (mat chairman): has the final say on points awarded if the referee and judge disagree.
Under the 2026 WCL Rulebook, the mat chair also shows the points to everyone after a video review, and the result is recorded on the bout sheet and score clock before the bout continues.
Uniform (2026 WCL Rulebook, Article 10): a black polo shirt with a WCL or CAWO logo, black trousers, black belt, black socks and black shoes, a blue armband on the right wrist, a red armband on the left wrist, and a working whistle and lanyard.
WCL has adopted the most current UWW International Wrestling Rules with Canadian modifications; where the WCL Rulebook and UWW rules conflict, UWW rules prevail unless otherwise noted.
