According to the WCL Spectator Guide (Freestyle technical points, awarded depending on the level of control or difficulty of the move):
- 1 point: stepping out of bounds, or a reversal where a wrestler in the defensive par terre position executes an action that puts them behind and in control of the opponent on the mat.
- 2 points: a takedown, where a wrestler from the standing or neutral position takes the opponent to the mat without back exposure.
- 4 points: a takedown or throw to the danger position, where the opponent is taken to the mat with direct back exposure to the mat.
- 1 point to the opponent for each caution, including after the passivity procedure.
The referee makes the initial call on points, the judge verifies, and the mat chair has the final say if they disagree. The guide lists only these values; other actions are scored under the UWW International Wrestling Rules that WCL adopts.
