- Two liberos (Rule 6-4-2): a team may designate zero, one or two liberos on the lineup sheet before each set. Only one may be on the court at a time.
- Injured libero (10-4-3a): may be replaced by the player the libero replaced or by the second libero, or a new libero may be designated.
- Disqualified libero (10-4-3d): with two liberos designated, the team may replace a disqualified libero with the player the libero replaced or the second libero, and continues with one libero.
- Libero uniform (4-2-1i(3)): the libero's bottoms may be any color, as long as all other uniform rules are met.
- Non-playing teammates (12-2-8b): a non-playing teammate who enters the court while the ball is in play is penalized for illegal alignment (loss of rally/point). A coach or team attendant doing the same is still unsporting conduct.
- Bench celebrations (12-2-8m): non-playing teammates may not use props in bench celebrations.
- Between-set warning (5-5-3b(21)): the second referee's second warning between sets is now at 2:30 instead of 2:45.
- Screening (6-5-1): serving-team players may not raise their hands above their heads during service until the ball passes beyond the net.
- Devices (9-2-1 Note 1): no player may wear an audio (microphone) or video (camera) device during the match.
- Textured ball: states may now adopt a textured volleyball (approved in 2025, effective 2026-27).
