How do I become a track and field official in Canada?

Athletics Canada's "Become an Official" page gives three steps:

1. Pick a course: choose Officials 101 if you have no athletics experience, or Officials 201 if you are an athlete or coach or have some experience in the sport.
2. Complete the course.
3. Follow up with your Branch: your information goes to your provincial or territorial Branch, which will contact you about next steps.

From there, officials advance from beginner through Level I to Level V, with World Athletics Bronze, Silver and Gold as the international rankings. Officials are volunteers. Under the National Safe Sport Policy every official also needs an active Branch membership, Safe Sport Training, a Criminal Record Check and Level 1 certification at a minimum.
