What are the National Lifeguard Pool and Waterfront prerequisites?

For both National Lifeguard Pool and National Lifeguard Waterfront the July 2026 program guide lists:

• Minimum age of 15 years.
• Bronze Cross.
• Lifesaving Society Intermediate First Aid, or Intermediate First Aid from a training agency approved by the Ontario government.

The Society's National Lifeguard web page words the first aid prerequisite as Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED, or Standard First Aid from the Society or an approved agency. Both sources say the first aid certificate need not be current.
