Report time
- Local and invitational meets: report to the judges' meeting or hospitality room 30 minutes before the scheduled march-in, unless the Meet Referee says otherwise.
- Meets with video analysis (base score), such as State, Regional and National competitions: up to 1 hour before march-in, as set by the Meet Referee.
- If you arrive more than 5 minutes after the report time, you're paid from the first scheduled march-in instead.
Pay and breaks
- Paid hourly by rating, with a minimum of 3 hours per day, counted from report time to the end of the meet.
- With 3 or more sessions a day, at least two 30-minute breaks are recommended. Breaks are paid, so you must stay at the venue.
- A minimum 30-minute break between sessions is recommended.
- Meet Directors may give officials a gift worth no more than $20 retail.
Contracts and cancellations
- At least 14 days' notice is required to cancel. A judge who cancels with less notice, or without contacting the assigner, owes the Meet Director 2 hours' honorarium plus any non-refundable expenses. The same applies to a Meet Director who cancels judges with less than 14 days' notice and they aren't reassigned.
- Neither side is penalized for extenuating circumstances such as weather that prevents travel, grave illness or a public health emergency.
