Under sections 6.2 and 9.2 of the FIG Women's Artistic Code of Points 2025-2028:
- Each E-judge evaluates the exercise independently against perfect performance. Their execution and artistry deductions are added and subtracted from 10.000 to give an individual E-score.
- The individual scores are then averaged:
| Number of E-judges | Scores averaged |
|---|---|
| 7 | Middle 3 |
| 5 | Middle 3 |
| 4 | Middle 2 |
| 3 | All 3 |
| 2 | Both |
- If the average runs past three decimal places, it is truncated (not rounded) to three decimals.
The Code's example from a 7-judge panel: scores of 8.800, 8.300, 9.000, 8.600, 8.700, 8.700 and 8.100 give an E-score of 8.666 (the middle three, 8.600, 8.700 and 8.700, averaged and truncated).
