What are the entry requirements for the IRB Crew award?

- SLS NSW skills maintenance
- Age: at least 15 years old. The SLS NSW Awards & Qualifications Chart measures minimum age on the date of final assessment, and Surf Life Saving South Australia also lists a minimum of 15.
- Prerequisite award: proficient in the Bronze Medallion/Cert II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue). The SLSA Board has resolved that the IRB Crew award can be undertaken alongside the Bronze Medallion (Circular 33/17-18, noted in the SLSA IRB Course Review, June 2024).
- Membership: Surf Life Saving South Australia says you must join a surf life saving club and become a member before beginning any of its qualifications.
