Changing home club within South Africa
- The player must first be cleared by their existing home club before their scoring record is transferred.
- The old club may delay the transfer only for outstanding fees or disciplinary issues, not because the player represents the club in competitions or for any other reason.
Players who live permanently in South Africa
- Must have a home club in South Africa. Only a Handicap Index issued through HNA is valid for competitions; an overseas index is only acceptable if the player lives in that other country.
Visitors who spend long periods in South Africa ("swallows")
- Recommended: change their home club to a South African club and enter their adjusted gross scores from the past year using the foreign round procedure (or at least the last 20 scores, with the club asking HNA to set the Low Handicap Index to match their overseas one).
- Not recommended: keep home clubs in two countries. The player must then enter every round in both systems, and before they use their GolfRSA index, the club handicapper must check that at least their last 20 scores are on the HNA system and the Low Handicap Index matches.
